Fresh Idea: Digital Scrapbooking
(KUTV) Scrapbooking is no stranger to Utah, but how would you like to get your pages without the mess? In this Fresh Idea Michelle King shows us a more efficient way to get your pages done with less clutter and in half the time.
Imagine creating memorable scrapbook pages without all the cutting, gluing or organizing a single thing.
April Oaks is a mother of two and she thought her scrapbooking days were over after having her kids.
“You can scrapbook with your baby in your lap. You’re never going to have a mess,” said oaks.
But recently she found a way to make scrapbooking more convenient and creative.
“Instead of buying the individual pieces of paper than you would just use our CD to mix and match just like with regular scrapbooking but on the computer,” oaks said.
Digital scrapbook memories have developed CDs of different graphic designs that are equivalent to paper, stickers and embellishments used in traditional scrapbooking.
The graphics work hand and hand with image editing programs like Adobe Photoshop.
“You need to have an image editing program of some sort. Almost everybody has one at home. There’s probably one you’ve gotten for free with a camera scanner or printer,” she said.
After you make unique creations you can print the pages off at home or take them to a photo lab.
April says most photo labs will print 12” x 12” if your printer doesn’t.
With the digital advantage you can also make DVDs or print multiple albums for friends and family.
Digital scrapbook memories will be holding free Adobe Photoshop classes every month if you’re unfamiliar or intimidated with image editing programs.
