Pitcairn Patter: Scrapbooking marathon Friday at local church

By Pat Kemerer, Columnist

Think of it as a memories preservation workshop, be-cause that’s what you’ll be doing at the scrapbooking marathon at the Assembly of God church this Friday, Nov. 17.

Pictures tell a story. To tell your story, those pictures you have lying around need to be organized.

So come to the church at the corner of Wall Avenue and Agatha Street on Friday and start putting your story together.

The workshop will take place from 5:45 to 11 p.m.

Cost is $10, which includes a light dinner, snacks and drinks.

For November and De-cember, if you bring a friend to a scrapbooking event, you will be entered in a drawing to win half a year of free workshops, valued at $60.

Give Laura Mae a call at 412-335-4344 to attend the workshop on Friday.

Club’s breakfast

Don’t forget!

Pitcairn Woman’s Club’s annual pancake breakfast will be held this Sunday, Nov. 19, in the Park Building on Broadway.

The breakfast will run from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.

Cost is $5 for adults, $2.50 for children younger than age 10.

Take-out will be available.

Alumni luncheon

Pitcairn High School Alumni will hold a casserole luncheon at noon on Tuesday, Nov, 21, at Center Avenue Methodist Church.

Bring your favorite casserole to share and enjoy the company of friends.

Holiday celebration

The borough’s annual Old-Fashioned Christmas event will be held a little earlier this year

The festivities will be on Sunday, Nov. 26, at the Park Building.

There will be entertainment, food, door prizes and, of course, a visit from Santa.

So circle the date and plan to have a great time celebrating the season with your friends and neighbors.

Birthday wishes

Happy birthday to my husband, Rick, who will be celebrating his special day this Thursday, Nov. 16.
