Hillsboro: Fruit sale, VSA, scrapbooking and an HCA meeting

We have returned from sunny Florida to a cold, blustery Virginia and now wish we could have stayed longer and avoided the treacherous ride home, the daunting task of plowing out and all the confusion of cancellations and rescheduling of appointments. Hope you all fared well.

Ruritan fruit: A reminder to those who ordered citrus fruit from the Hillsboro Ruritans - do remember to pick up your fruit Saturday, Feb. 24 at the Old Stone School between 9 a.m. and noon. Questions? Call either Robbie Thompson at 540-668-6147 or Ed Cutshall at 540-668-6563.

VSA Arts: Hillsboro’s Maisie and Joey Eastman will be featured in the VSA Arts production of “Japanese Fairy Tales” Saturday, March 3 and 10 at 7 p.m. and Sunday, March 4 and 11 at 3 p.m. at the Belmont Ridge Middle School in Leesburg.

Scrapbooking: The Douglass Community Center in Leesburg invites adults to attend its day of scrapbooking “Crop ’til You Drop” March 3 from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. Call 703-771-5913 for a mandatory registration application. Snow date is March 17.

HCA: The Hillsboro Community Association will meet Thursday, Feb. 22, at 7:30 p.m. at the Old Stone School.

Rentals: The Hillsboro Community Association offers rooms for special gatherings and events. For details concerning costs and availability, call Aimie Ware at 540-668-7738. Proceeds benefit the continued maintenance and restoration of the Old Stone School.

Fireworks fund: The Hillsboro Community Association is soliciting funds for its annual Fourth of July fireworks display. Those wishing to donate may do so by sending a check to The HCA, 37098 Charles Town Pike, Hillsboro, VA., 20132. Please designate check for the Fireworks Fund.
