Help us build Scrapbook

Pages that make memories. That’s what scrapbooks offer.

Like an album of memories at home, we’d like the pages of The Salinas Californian’s Scrapbook to feature an assortment of photos and brief notes about events and accomplishments.

Exactly what they contain is largely up to you, our readers.

We’re inviting you to submit snapshots and short articles in a variety of categories, at no charge:

- Milestones: Know someone celebrating a 100th birthday? Finally made a hole-in-one? Landed your first career-track job?

- “The Way We Were:” How funny was your hair? Show us with a “historical” photo from a personal event or community happening dating from Salinas’ earliest days up through the early 1990s.

- Travel: Do you have a picture of yourself or your family on vacation?

- Adult sports: Does your volleyball team rule the league?

- Clubs and organizations: Send us news and photos of new officers, activities, fundraisers and appointees.

- Thank yous: Wish to publicly express appreciation to someone or for something?

- Military: Did your son or daughter just finish boot camp, get a promotion or a new posting? Let us know.

- Outdoor recreation: Did you catch a big fish or scale a peak? Share the excitement.

- Youth accomplishment: Share your kids’ achievements in areas such as 4-H, scouting, non-school sports, dance groups, baile folklorico and other non-school pursuits.
